This used to be many years ago the pub where everybody went on a night out. Still relatively popular mainly with the older generation this pub has wonderful views out over Carrick Roads. The pub is more of the traditional variety with oak beam ceilings and lots a memorabilia associated with the sea and sailing. The bar is well stocked with various beers, lagers and spirits all being reasonably priced. They often show live sports that are mainly football and rugby. Overall not a bad pub to stop for one or two beverages as you trawl through the town. There are better venues but there are also a lot worse.

I have never wrote a review but after visiting this pub I felt the need.

I called yesterday with four members of my family looking for home cooked hearty pub grub meal

The pub was very dirty and the tables were very sticky like they had not been washed properly. After ordering four cokes we noticed there was a very strange after taste so they had to be left. My partner and myself ordered the beef and ale pie. As someone who loves food and was absolutely starving after a few mouthfuls I had to leave it. The pie had no taste at all even after adding mass amounts of salt and pepper. The vegetables were under cooked and the chips were cold. I ordered a child's sausage and mash off the specials board for my eight month old. When it was presented the mash had gone yellow and dry like it had been warmed up and then left, the beans came in a separate dish but you could tell by the thickness and no juice that they had been warmed up several times.

The bill came to over £40 and must I say it totally spoilt the last day after 2 wonderful weeks in Cornwall
